Inverse Size Exclusion Chromatography

Inverse Size Exclusion Chromatography

Location: TVT, Egerlandstr. 3, 91058 Erlangen, Room T1.51

In the case of inverse size exclusion chromatography, standards such as pullulan (in water) or polystyrene (in THF) with known sizes are measured. The retention time of these standards allows one to derive information about the pore size of the nanoporous material packed inside of the chromatographic column.

Inverse Size Exclusion Chromatography | Merck HITACHI LaChrom

In the case of inverse size exclusion chromatography, standards such as pullulan (in water) or polystyrene (in THF) with known sizes are measured. The retention time of these standards allows one to derive information about the pore size of the nanoporous material packed inside of the chromatographic column.

The setup consists of the following components:

  • Interface C-7000
  • Pump L-7100 (max. pressure 400 bar, flow rate 0.001 – 0.999 ml/min, flow stability < 0.2 % RSD)
  • Autosampler L-7200 (sample capacity: 80 standard vials 1.5 ml, dosing unit: 0.5 ml, injection range: 0.5 – 400 µl, injection valve: 6-way valve)
  • Column furnace L-7300 (temperature range: room temperature – 80°C)
  • UV detector L-7400 (wave length: 190 – 600 nm)

The installation of an RI detector instead of the UV detector is possible.
