Gas pycnometer

Gas pycnometer

Location: TVT, Egerlandstr. 3a, 91058 Erlangen, Room 00.010

The gas pycnometer allows for the determination of the skeletal density of nanoporous materials using helium pycnometry. To determine the skeletal density, a sample with known mass is put in the sample chamber. The sample chamber is pressurzied with the inert gas helium. After stabilization of the pressure, a valve to a reference chamber of known volume is opened. After equilibration of the pressure, the volume of the sample can be derived from the pressure.

Gas pycnometer | Ultrapyc 5000 | Anton Paar QuantaTec

The Ultrapyc 5000 allows for the determination of the skeletal density of nanoporous materials using helium pycnometry. Volumes in the range of 4.5 up to 135 cm3 can be measured. The temperature can be controlled between 15 and 50°C.
