The Zsigmondy Colloquium brings together early-career researchers working in colloid, surface, and interface science. Its aim is to foster active exchange between young scientists from academia, research institutions, and industry, providing a platform to present their work and build lasting professional connections.
The 2026 Zsigmondy Colloquium motto is Characterisation tools for particle systems and their functional assemblies, with topics including:
- Particle synthesis and self-assembly
- Quantification of size-, shape and materials distributions of particle systems
- Surface functionalization
- Separation and purification technologies
- Tomographic imaging of particle assemblies
- Modelling of particle formation and self-assembly
- Characterization tools for advanced, functional particle systems
The aim of the colloquium is thus to introduce the whole range of advanced characterisation techniques to provide valuable insights into the functional properties of colloidal systems, so that everybody can harvest the full potential of their materials.
