FPS was developed from research Area A1 of the Cluster of Excellence Engineering of Advanced Materials (EAM) and represents a central part of FAU’s interdisciplinary research on particle technology. It provides around 1,400 m2 of laboratory space including 4 chemistry labs, 1 technical hall and > 60 workplaces. Additionally, FPS is equipped with unique devices, mostly financed according to DFGs major instrumentation programme including various aspects of synthesis and characterization as well as processing of nanoparticles:
